Teatro en inglés con el instituto Abdera de Adra

Será a las 19:00 en el Centro Cultural de Adra y después se servirá un aperitivo. La entrada para ver este espectáculo cuesta tres euros y la recaudación se destinará a la asociación pro discapacitados de Adra ASPRODISA.

 El rey Lear (King Lear) es una de las principales tragedias de William Shakespeare, fue escrita en su segundo periodo. Comenzó su redacción en el año 1605 y fue representada por primera vez a fines del año siguiente.

La historia cuenta la caída de un rey que tiene tres hijas a las que quiere dejar el reino. Les pregunta cuánto le quieren y dos de ellas, malvadas, exageran su amor por él, mientras que otra le dice que le quiere como una hija quiere a un padre pero no más. El rey se enfada con esta última y le da el reino a las otras dos, quienes le dejan abandonado.

King Lear opens with a conversation between the earls of Kent and Gloucester, in which the audience learns that Gloucester has two sons: Edgar, who is his legitimate heir, and Edmund, his younger illegitimate son. This information will provide the secondary or subplot. Next, King Lear enters to state that he intends to remove himself from life's duties and concerns. Pointing at a map, Lear tells those in attendance that he has divided his kingdom into three shares, to be parceled out to his three daughters, as determined by their protestations of love. The two elder daughters, Goneril and Regan, exaggerate their love by telling their father that their affection for him exceeds all reasonable expectations. The youngest daughter, Cordelia, tells Lear that she loves him, but only as a daughter should love a father.
